Activities, Events and Staff Movements
Adelaide
During December our office in Adelaide supported a great Nexia Edwards Marshall client, Uniting SA, for their Christmas Appeal by collecting presents to help individuals, families, and children in need. The Uniting SA Christmas Appeal distributed over 400 gifts to local families for children to open on Christmas morning.
Brisbane
The Nexia Brisbane team celebrated their 50th year in business. To celebrate, Brisbane office’s CEO, Ken, has been sharing stories about clients that have been with Nexia Brisbane for those 50 years.
In December, our Brisbane and Brisbane South offices celebrated an end to 2020 at their ‘Christmas Masquerade’ themed party. Everyone had a fun time dressing up and getting creative with their fabulous masks. The audit team won best masks with their ‘Nigel Bamford’ masquerade to look like their Director.
In other news, the office sadly said goodbye to one of their Forensic Directors, Onus Maynes. It has been a privilege working with Onus and we wish him a happy retirement!
Melbourne
Our Melbourne office continued business as usual through a covid world. The office launched SupaCare, a division established to help local accountants provide firstly SMSF services to their clients, by providing expert resources and advice, and secondly, to promote other services on offer that a local/smaller firm could benefit from, such as management consulting and HR consulting.
The firm also established a migration services arm called Nexia Melbourne Migration Services and sponsored Victoria University’s Outstanding Student in Migration Law award, which was provided to Gurdevjit Singh. This sponsorship is one of their many commitments to encouraging the next generation of leaders.
As 2020 ended, after many months of working from home, the Melbourne team had the opportunity to attend team lunches to celebrate the holiday season. The lunches provided a welcomed opportunity for teams to finally catch up face to face.
In line with the Victorian Government’s guidelines, a staggered return to the office is now in sight. Nexia Melbourne is committed to keeping their clients and team members safe. They would like to thank their clients for their patience, understanding and business as they have continued to work from home over the past 10 months.
