Richard has over 15 years of experience in both “Big 4” and second tier firms where he has gained specialised knowledge in auditing, financial reporting, risk assessment, and the review and design of internal controls.

Richard has been able to use his experience in professional services in China and Australia to provide specialised advice to international and local clients. As the leader of the Asian Advisory Service, Richard liaises with other Nexia offices in Australia and New Zealand, as well as Nexia International firms in China and the Asian region.

Chris was promoted to Partner in 2022, having started his career as a graduate with local accounting firm, Marriotts (which merged to become Nexia in 2016). He has a strong desire to help his clients meet their goals, and believes that accounting isn’t just about filing tax returns; it’s about understanding your business to make better decisions and reach your full potential.

Chris particularly enjoys working with businesses that are starting up. He helps them understand what their results are telling them, taking the financial confusion out of their early years in business.

Having grown up on a dairy farm, he is passionate about the primary sector and understands what makes farmers tick.

In his spare time, Chris is a keen sportsman who enjoys playing rugby, cricket and touch, as well as spending time with his young family.

Doug Abrahams began his career journey across the pond in South Africa working for some pretty well regarded names in the industry. Today, Doug is a Partner within our Business Advisory team, coming onboard in 2023 after building his own practice in the heart of Caulfield.  

Not only is Doug a numbers guy, he's also a true people person. His technical abilities combined with his natural charm make him one of most sought after advisors at our Caulfield office. 

Since 1988, Doug has helped businesses and families go from aspiring for success to having it - through solid strategy, tax planning and empathetic advice.
